LMC executive committee gets 6 new members
LUCKNOW, June 23 -- Six vacant posts in the executive committee (EC) of the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) were filled on Monday after as many corporators were elected unopposed in a special session of the House, said an LMC press release.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal chaired the special session held at LMC headquarters. Since only six nominations were received against six vacancies, all candidates were declared elected without a contest. Their election formally completes the executive committee.
Those elected are BJP corporators Sushil Tiwari 'Pammi' from Lalkuan ward, Rajiv Bajpai from Tilak Nagar-Kundri Rakabganj ward, Sanjay Rathore from Rajiv Gandhi-I ward, Vinod Yadav from New Haiderganj-III ward, Rashmi Singh from Faizullaganj-I ward besides Samajwadi Party corporator Mamta Rawat from Bharwara Malhaur ward.
The executive committee, which vets major projects, policies and expenditure proposals before House approval, was constituted during a special session. Ahead of it, mayor Sushma Kharkwal and BJP Mahanagar president Anand Dwivedi met corporators and later led a padyatra to the municipal headquarters, stressing unity and development....
