lko to get new museum celebrating Awadh heritage on March 1
LUCKNOW, Feb. 26 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will open the Lucknow Museum of Heritage and Art on March 1. Spread over 4,973 sq m, the museum was built at a cost of Rs.41.43 crore. Officials say it aims to promote tourism and preserve the rich and composite heritage of Awadh. One of the building's main highlights is its 45-metre-long cantilever, constructed without supporting columns or pillars. LDA officials said this engineering feature gives the structure a striking look, making it one of the most distinctive modern buildings in the state.
The museum presents the history, literature and culture of Awadh through modern themed galleries. These include sections such as 'Mool Dhara', 'Hunar Ka Safar', 'Hastshilp', 'Saanjhi Aastha', 'Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb', 'Karigari', 'Mehfil-e-Awadh', 'Nrityakala', 'Natyashala', 'Soch evam Samvaad' and 'Zayka-e-Awadh'. Each gallery offers interactive displays to showcase traditions, crafts, performing arts and cuisine.htc...
