LUCKNOW, Aug. 25 -- The 79th Inter-Martiniere Meet 2026 culminated on Monday with La Martiniere College, Lucknow winning the football fixture, while La Martiniere for Girls, Kolkata bagged the swimming cup against La Martiniere Girls' College, Lucknow. In football at La Martiniere College, Lucknow, chief guest Dr S Munshi - gastroenterological surgeon and former junior India footballer who played Santosh Trophy for Tamil Nadu and was selected for the National Team in 1983 - was escorted by the Equestrian Squad and Brass Band with guest of honour Collins. He was introduced to captains Rashdan Ali (Kolkata) and Vedagya Singh Rajawat (Lucknow), which LMC Lucknow won. In swimming, chief guest Afshan Khan - educationist and LMGC alumna who represented the college in swimming in 1978 - was present during the event which featured U-12, U-14, U-17 and U-19 races. Abha Pokhrel of LMGC Lucknow was the standout, breaking two records - 15.81 sec in U-12 25m Freestyle (prev. 19.07 sec) and 19.66 sec in U-12 25m Backstroke (prev. 22.35 sec) - besides exemplary performance in 50m Butterfly. Rianna Jessica Dass finished second in U-14 Backstroke and third in U-14 Freestyle and Butterfly. LMGC Lucknow won the 4x25m Medley Relay. Kolkata won the Swimming, Endurance and Relay Cup 306-194....
