Lko police return 96 lost phones worth Rs.20 lakh to owners
LUCKNOW, April 6 -- The Lucknow Police's Hazratganj cyber help-desk traced and returned 96 lost mobile phones worth nearly Rs.20 lakh to their rightful owners, officials said on Sunday.
"The recovery was carried out under the supervision of senior officers of the central zone, with the Hazratganj police team using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal to track the missing devices. The phones had been reported lost by different individuals across the police station area," said Vikram Singh, SHO, Hazaratganj.
Police said the cyber team analysed data and tracked the locations of the devices, which were found scattered across multiple places. Following sustained efforts, the phones were recovered and brought to the police station through proper channels before being handed over to their owners.
