LUCKNOW, Sept. 24 -- In a significant move to reduce road crash fatalities, the Lucknow Police have deployed specialised "Critical Corridor Teams" (CCTs) at every police station in the city. Each team member is now equipped with basic trauma life support training to provide immediate care to accident victims during the critical "golden hour" before emergency medical services arrive. The initiative is part of a technical partnership between the Lucknow Traffic Police and the SaveLIFE Foundation under the "Zero Fatality District" (ZFD) programme. Through this collaboration, personnel have been trained in rapid patient assessment, severe bleeding control, airway management, and the safe handling of victims. According to the police, the SaveLIFE Foundation has trained over 27,000 first responders nationwide since 2008. This new operational layer complements the recently launched PRAMAAN (Police Road Accident Monitoring, Assurance and Analytics Network). Under PRAMAAN, Lucknow police analyse accident FIRs filed since January 2024, extracting roughly 25 parameters including precise GPS coordinates, collision types and road classifications, to guide targeted safety interventions.
