LUCKNOW, July 15 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested in Lucknow for allegedly circulating counterfeit Indian currency by spending fake notes at shops and liquor vends to pocket genuine cash, with police claiming the arrest helped unravel a local fake currency distribution chain. "The accused, identified as Sudhir Yadav of Bari Kalan in Thakurganj, was arrested by Dubagga police after investigators followed leads obtained during the interrogation of another accused who was caught earlier this week with counterfeit notes worth Rs.6,500," read a police press note. Police said they recovered counterfeit currency worth Rs.700-one fake Rs.500 note and two fake Rs.100 notes-from Yadav's possession. They also seized Rs.4,110 in genuine currency, which the accused allegedly admitted was earned by passing off fake notes as real in the market. htc...
