LUCKNOW, April 14 -- The collectorate located in the Qaiserbagh area in the state capital will get a new and ultra-modern record room soon. The 3-storey complex will be built near the canteen area. "The UP government had sanctioned about Rs.4.99 crore for the construction of the record room. The construction work is likely to begin next month. Right now, we are in the process of digitising all the records related to revenue and land," said district magistrate Vishak G. "Space crunch forced us to get a new record room. Many of our records are scattered in different offices at various tehsils. Our effort will be to bring them under one room. What happens today is when someone applies for a duplicate copy of certain records, it takes a lot of time to get it. Once all our records are digitised, it will be available to a person at the click of the mouse on a nominal payment basis," said an official privy to the development.htc...
