Lko: Ludo game dispute turns fatal, man killed with scissors under flyover
LUCKNOW, Oct. 5 -- A 32-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death with scissors following a dispute over abusive language against the mother of a fellow player during a Ludo game under the Purnia flyover in Aliganj, police said.
The accused, identified as 42-year-old Pradeep Singh, was arrested by Aliganj police for the murder of Abhishek Kumar Awasthi, alias Rahul Awasthi, a native of Sitapur.
According to police, a group of youths had gathered under the flyover to play Ludo and were consuming alcohol when an argument broke out. The dispute escalated after Awasthi allegedly abused Singh's mother.
Police said Singh picked up a pair of scissors from a nearby roadside massage shop and attacked Awasthi repeatedly in the chest and abdomen. Awasthi collapsed at the spot and was rushed to KGMU, where he died during treatment.
The incident was reported around 5.51 pm on October 3. Aliganj police registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and launched an investigation.
"During interrogation, the accused allegedly disclosed that he had hidden the scissors beneath the flyover towards the Madiaon side after the attack. Police subsequently recovered the bloodstained scissors," said Dhurv Kumar, SHO, Aliganj.
Police also seized a grey T-shirt and white trousers allegedly worn by the accused. The field unit collected blood samples and other forensic evidence from the crime scene....
