Life convict dies in district jail
PRATAPGARH, June 5 -- A 72-year-old life convict lodged in Pratapgarh district jail to serve the remainder of his sentence, died on Thursday morning after his health deteriorated, officials said.
The deceased, identified as Radheshyam, a resident of Gogaur village under the Baghrai police station area, had been sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case in 1983. He was subsequently released on bail but was remanded to jail on May 26, 2026, by an Additional Sessions Judge to complete the remaining term of his sentence.
According to jail authorities, Radheshyam had a history of tuberculosis and was suffering from respiratory complications at the time of his admission to the prison. He was being treated at the jail hospital and kept under medical supervision.htc...
