Letter of intent given to establish Vedanta Univ in Muz'nagar
Lucknow, Aug. 28 -- A letter of intent was provided to Fateh Chand Charitable Trust, Muzaffarnagar, for the establishment of the proposed Vedanta University, Muzaffarnagar, on Wednesday.
UP higher education minister Yogendra Upadhyay expressed hope that the proposed Vedanta University will establish a new dimension of education in Muzaffarnagar and western Uttar Pradesh and will provide better employment and research opportunities to the youth here.
He said that the operation of this university will bring qualitative improvement in the education system of the state and the students of Muzaffarnagar and the surrounding districts will not have to go to big cities for higher education.
With this letter of intent issued under the Uttar Pradesh Private University Act, 2019, it will be the responsibility of the sponsoring institution to fulfill the conditions prescribed for the establishment of the university. These include creating a permanent endowment fund of at least five crore rupees, holding 20 acres of land in urban area or 50 acres of land in rural area, constructing a building of at least 24,000 square meters of floor area on it and providing infrastructure and equipment worth Rs 2 crore at the initial stage and at least Rs 6 crore in the next five years....
