Leopard trapped after 77-hour op in Lakhimpur
Lakhimpur Kheri, March 30 -- Forest teams in Dudhwa buffer zone trapped a leopard late Saturday night after a 77-hour operation in Sindhauna, Nighasan range, following the death of a seven-year-old girl.
Officials said pugmark analysis and the animal's behaviour confirmed it as the same leopard involved in the attack. Kirti Chaudhary, deputy director of the Dudhwa buffer zone, told the Hindustan Times, "The pugmark analysis of the captured big cat, a six-year-old male leopard, and its behaviour to visit the place of its kill again and again established it to be the same leopard."
The leopard had entered a house in Sindhauna village on Wednesday night and dragged away the child while she was having dinner.
