Prayagraj, June 4 -- A Lekhpal posted in Raniganj, Pratapgarh, has been booked along with two others after a woman accused him of raping her on the pretext of helping her secure possession of a plot of land and later blackmailing her with a video of the alleged assault. According to the complaint, the woman, a resident of a village under the Delhupur police station area, had approached Lekhpal Sandeep Tiwari for assistance in obtaining possession of land she had purchased. She alleged that after collecting her documents and contact details, Tiwari began making inappropriate remarks. The woman alleged that on July 9, 2025, Tiwari called her to his room, promising to complete the land possession formalities, where he sexually assaulted her and recorded a video of the incident. She further alleged that he repeatedly exploited her and threatened to circulate the video. The complaint also names Dinesh Patel of Chitpalgarh, who is accused of using the video to blackmail the woman and pressuring her for similar acts. The victim alleged that threats were later issued to force her to withdraw her complaint.Case has been registered. Further investigation is underway.htc...
