LUCKNOW, Oct. 1 -- Left parties took out a procession from Parivartan Chowk to the Collectorate on Wednesday as part of a nationwide protest against alleged misconduct by Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The protesters raised slogans against the CEC and submitted a memorandum addressed to the President of India to the district magistrate. At the meeting, Left party leaders alleged that the Election Commission, a constitutional body entrusted with protecting voters' rights, had excluded around 13 crore voters from electoral rolls in a process that they claimed benefited the BJP.
