LUCKNOW, Aug. 7 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is planning to develop a new industrial and logistics hub along the Agra Expressway through a proposed 1,035-acre Vashisth Nagar township, with an estimated Rs.1,328 crore earmarked for land acquisition. The authority has sent the proposal to the state government under the Chief Minister Urban Expansion Scheme, aiming to transform the project into a major growth engine for the Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region (SCR), officials said. According to LDA officials, the authority has finalised the project's blueprint and is awaiting the state government's approval. Once the proposal is cleared, the authority will begin land acquisition through farmers' consent and other approved mechanisms. The township has been designed to promote industrial investment, logistics, warehousing and employment generation. Officials expect the project to strengthen Lucknow's position in the SCR by improving connectivity with national and international supply chains while attracting private investment. According to LDA officials, more than 50% of the land in the proposed Vashisth Nagar township has been reserved for industrial and logistics activities. The remaining area will be developed for residential plots and flats. The proposed township will have direct connectivity to the Agra Expressway, Mohan Road, the Link Expressway and LDA's Varun Vihar scheme, ensuring seamless access for industries and transport operators. The project also includes plans for an international bus terminal and modern road infrastructure. LDA has identified nearly 1,035 acres across Rewari, Bhaliya, Gehlwara, Adampur Indwara, Bahru and Jaliyamau villages for the township.
