LUCKNOW, May 23 -- The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has initiated the process for constructing a proposed new Vidhan Bhavan building in Gomti Nagar. Prathamesh Kumar, LDA vice chairman, confirmed on Friday that the authority has invited bids to select a consultancy agency that will prepare the detailed project report, architectural designs and planning framework. The land covers around 170 acres, including nearly 40 acres designated as a green belt. The site came into focus for the proposed project after discussions on shifting and expanding legislative infrastructure gained pace following the LMC's seizure and sealing of nearly 130 acres in October last year. Officials said the land is being considered to meet future expansion requirements of the state legislature and related administrative offices.
