Lakhimpur boy's bold complaint at Samadhan Divas ends in surprise twist
Lakhimpur Kheri, July 19 -- A 13-year-old boy became the unexpected centre of attention at Saturday's Samadhan Divas in Lakhimpur tehsil, winning over high-ranking officials with his audacity before a reality check revealed a different story behind his complaint.
Amitabh Gupta, a resident of the city's Idgah locality, arrived at the venue alone and approached a panel of top officials, including Kheri district magistrate (DM) Anjani Kumar Singh, CDO Abhishek Kumar, and SSP Khyati Garg. Undeterred by their presence, the teenager presented a grievance regarding a family dispute, alleging that his relatives had locked a room in his home.
The DM, initially impressed by the boy's courage, gave him a patient hearing. However, the interaction soon turned humorous when the DM promised to "look into" the matter. The boy immediately retorted, "Dekhiye nahin, karvaiye" (Don't just look into it, get it done).
Acting on the DM's orders, a sub-inspector accompanied the boy to his home. However, his mother revealed that he had skipped school under the pretext of needing a transfer certificate solely to attend the event on his own. She clarified that there was no illegal occupation, but an issue with garbage dumped by relatives. The officer ordered the debris to be cleared on the spot....
