Killed father in sleep; knife ordered online, walls painted
LUCKNOW, Feb. 25 -- On the second day of interrogation on Tuesday, Akshat Singh, 21, revealed that he shot his father while he was asleep on the top floor of their four-storey building, police sources told HT.
After buying a saw from a local market in Bangla Bazaar, he ordered a sharp knife from an online store to dismember the body, allegedly drawing inspiration from a recent case in Delhi, they said. He brought paint to conceal the blood stains.
"The accused chose the time between 2am and 3am on February 20 when his father was asleep, as his heavy build could have foiled the plan," a source said. Akshat brought the body to the ground floor and dismembered it inside a washroom while keeping the tap running. Blood-stained clothes of the deceased were recovered on Tuesday, they added. "I disposed of the limbs. Half of the body was left, and I had kept a vehicle ready to transport it. But, someone came to the door, so I couldn't dispose of the remaining parts," sources quoted Akshat as telling investigators....
