LUCKNOW, Aug. 7 -- In a major relief for the elderly and psychiatric patients, King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Thursday inaugurated a dedicated Hospital Revolving Fund (HRF) medicine counter for the Department of Geriatric Mental Health and Psychiatry and the upcoming Geriatric ICU. The facility was inaugurated by vice chancellor Prof Soniya Nityanand, who said the initiative would ensure affordable and timely access to quality medicines within the hospital campus, reducing treatment delays and improving patient convenience, stated a press release . Prof Kumar Shantanu, chairman, HRF, said the counter would save patients' time and money while ensuring uninterrupted availability of medicines. Prof Balendra P Singh, faculty in-charge, HRF, said the facility was established after assessing the needs of geriatric and psychiatric patients.
