Key city routes to face curbs today
LUCKNOW, Aug. 9 -- Traffic restrictions and diversions will be enforced across several key routes in Lucknow on Sunday, as the city hosts a Tiranga Yatra, the Kakori train Action anniversary programme and a tribute event at the CSI Club, traffic police said on Saturday.
Restrictions will affect Hazratganj, 1090 crossing, Golf Club, Bandariabagh, Cantonment and routes towards Kakori. The Tiranga Yatra, scheduled to begin at 9 am, will affect traffic from Samta Mulak Chauraha towards 1090 crossing, Golf Club, Bandariabagh and Cantonment. Vehicles will be diverted through the Green Corridor, Taj Underpass, Pipraghat and G-20 Tiraha. Vehicles approaching 1090 crossing from other routes will not be allowed towards Golf Club, Bandariabagh and Cantonment.
Alternate routes include PNT Tiraha, Baikunth Dham, Chiraiyajheel and the Green Corridor. Traffic from Royal Hotel Chauraha towards Hazratganj will be stopped and diverted through Sisendi Tiraha, Annexy, Lalbatti, Ashok Lat and Kaisarbagh. Vehicles from Golf Club and Park Road towards Hazratganj will also face restrictions.
The Kakori train Action anniversary programme will be held at 10 am at the Shaheed Smarak site in Baj Nagar, Kakori. Vehicles from Chandoiya Chauraha towards Machhli Mandi and Andha Ki Chowki will be diverted through Avanti Bai Chauraha and Jehta Road towards Hardoi.
Vehicles coming from Hardoi towards Lucknow will be diverted from Durgaganj Chauraha. The third event, a tribute programme at the CSI Club, will begin at 4 pm.
Traffic from Bandariabagh towards DSO and Hazratganj will be diverted through Lalbatti, Sisendi or Golf Club and Park Road. Vehicles from DSO towards Bandariabagh will use Sisendi-Lalbatti or Park Road-Golf Club routes....
