AGRA, Aug. 3 -- A kanwariya in his forties was killed and five others were injured after a tractor collided with a truck on GT Road in Etah district on Saturday night. Police said the accident occurred when the tractor's axle broke, causing a wheel to detach. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then crashed into the truck, injuring six people. According to Etah deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Shwetabh Pandey, police received information late on Saturday night about a collision between a tractor-trolley and a truck near Nagla Madaria on GT Road. Pandey said the tractor-trolley was travelling from the Kurawali area of Mainpuri district to Kasganj when its axle broke near Nagla Madaria, causing the front wheel to detach. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which then collided with a mini-truck, leaving six people travelling on the tractor-trolley injured. The injured kanwariyas were rushed to a nearby hospital. DSP Pandey said Satyapal, who sustained critical injuries, was referred to a higher medical centre but died during treatment. Two injured were discharged after giving first aid, while two others are undergoing treatment. All those travelling in the tractor-trolley were residents of Kishanpur village in Mainpuri district.
