Meerut, July 18 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed officials to ensure foolproof security, seamless traffic management and strict enforcement of guidelines during the upcoming Kanwar Yatra. He warned there would be "no compromise" on pilgrim safety and ordered immediate action against those spreading rumours, particularly on social media. Reviewing preparations with senior police and administrative officials of the Meerut and Saharanpur divisions at the Mahatma Gandhi auditorium in the Ghaziabad Collectorate, he ordered that all meat and liquor shops along the Kanwar Yatra route must remain closed throughout the pilgrimage. . He instructed officials to install CCTV cameras at sensitive locations and maintain continuous aerial surveillance through drones.
