VARANASI, July 27 -- The Kashi region BJP has finalised preparations for a Deepotsav and Samarasta Sankalp Sabha at the Sant Ravidas Temple in Seer Goverdhanpur on July 29, marking the start of the year-long celebrations for the saint's 650th birth anniversary. Leading up to the main event, the temple will host Mati Pujan (Soil Worship) on July 27, followed by Kalash Pujan and a ceremonial procession on July 28. Kashi region BJP spokesperson Navratan Rathi confirmed the schedule, noting that minister of state (independent charge) for social welfare Asim Arun recently chaired a planning meeting at the Circuit House to ensure all arrangements are completed in a time-bound manner. The festivities will coincide with Guru Purnima. As part of a nationwide initiative, the BJP will organise Deepotsav at Sant Ravidas temples across the country on July 29, with the flagship Samarasta Sankalp Sabha (Social Harmony Pledge Meeting) taking place at the saint's birthplace in Varanasi Chief minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP national president Nitin Nabin are scheduled to attend the main event at the Sant Ravidas Temple on July 29....
