JCB operator found dead under loader, family alleges murder
LUCKNOW, May 27 -- A 24-year-old JCB operator was found dead under mysterious circumstances early Monday morning near a pond in Sakra village under Kakori police station limits. The deceased, identified as Raj Kashyap, was discovered crushed beneath the loader of his machine, triggering suspicion and protest from family members who allege foul play.
Police said the body has been sent for postmortem examination and that legal action will follow after receiving a formal complaint from the family.
According to police, a call was received around 7:30 am reporting that a JCB operator was found trapped under the loader of the machine near a pond on the outskirts of Sakra village. A team led by the station house officer (SHO) of Kakori, Satish Chandra, reached the scene to initiate an inquiry.
"The deceased was identified as Raj Kashyap, a resident of Sheikh Saadi in Kakori. Preliminary investigation revealed that Raj had been operating the JCB at a site where a boundary wall was being constructed around a pond leased for fish farming," Lucknow Police said.
"The pond is registered under the gram samaj and has been leased," SHO Chandra said. He added that the work involved soil digging and leveling using JCB machines and several tractors. While the tractor drivers would leave the site every evening, Kashyap reportedly stayed back overnight to guard the equipment.
Eyewitnesses from the village who reached the spot early in the morning reported seeing Kashyap's vest, a broken chair, and his slippers lying separately around the machine, raising concerns about a possible struggle.
Deputy commissioner of police (DCP) West Vishwajeet Srivastava said the death appears to have occurred under suspicious circumstances. "A forensic team has collected samples from the site, and further information is being gathered to understand the sequence of events," he said....
