Lucknow, Aug. 21 -- After the inaugural day of the UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026 in New Delhi on Wednesday, a Japanese delegation will participate in a series of events in Lucknow on Friday with the spotlight on investment, industry, education, tourism, healthcare, MSMEs and women empowerment. The visit comes as UP pitches itself as a dream investment destination. The delegation's official engagements will begin at Jan Bhavan where the members will call on governor Anandiben Patel before heading to chief minister Yogi Adityanath's official residence for a discussion on long-term investment and institutional collaboration. Kotaro Nagasaki, governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, and Junichi Ishidera, deputy governor, will lead the Japanese delegation. The state government has proposed a tourism event at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow on Friday. It will include an important roundtable meeting with over 50 tour operators, hoteliers and entrepreneurs. The programme will also feature a tourism exhibition and dialogue sessions. The Lucknow event will also focus on institutional collaboration in the hospitality sector, including discussions on Buddhist tourism, wellness tourism, cultural exchange and developing new experiences for tourists. Fifteen Japanese students will tour Atal School, Mohanlalganj with officials from Invest UP to give them a first-hand look at the state's evolving education ecosystem and digital classrooms. Meanwhile, 15 women delegates from Japan will meet the minister for women and child welfare and then visit the 1090 Women Helpline. With a detailed briefing by the additional DG, the session aims to exchange best practices on tech-driven women safety. The day will also see a proposed MoU exchange at the assembly. A meeting between UP's energy minister and the governor of Yamanashi Prefecture is also on the cards, with energy and green hydrogen high on the agenda....
