Lucknow, Aug. 22 -- A Japanese delegation on Friday visited Women Power Line 1090, Uttar Pradesh's dedicated women's safety helpline, as part of the ongoing UP-Japan Investment Meet 2026. The visitors examined the complete process of handling calls, assessing concerns, providing counselling and ensuring grievance redressal. Officials briefed the team on how the helpline assists women facing harassment, fear or difficult situations. They explained that trained staff listen carefully, create a supportive environment and offer emotional guidance, particularly when callers are hesitant to speak openly due to stress or fear. When needed, the service connects women to further support systems. Both sides focused on preventive measures, including school-level awareness programmes and age-appropriate education for children above five on personal safety, communication and seeking help from trusted individuals.
