Lucknow, July 29 -- A jackfruit falling on a SUV outside the residence of Uttar Pradesh MLA OP Srivastava, in the Indira Nagar area of the state capital, sparked a violent altercation, with a staff member claiming he was assaulted by a group of unidentified men, according to FIR registered at Ghazipur police station. The complainant, Mohammad Jurail, who works at the MLA's residence, told police in the FIR that he and two others were collecting fallen jackfruits around 10 am on July 25 when a white SUV arrived at the spot. A jackfruit allegedly fell onto the SUV, damaging the windshield. According to the FIR, the occupants of the SUV became enraged over the damaged windshield and called others to the spot. Jurail alleged that four more men arrived in another four-wheeler and on a motorcycle and assaulted him. He further claimed that the group attempted to enter the MLA's residence before fleeing after locals gathered. The FIR names six unidentified accused, including two occupants of the SUV, two persons in another four-wheeler and two on a motorcycle. The complainant told the police he could identify one of the accused.
