Lucknow, March 26 -- Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav alleged that instead of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the country's development, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party was misusing AI against opposition parties. Akhilesh Yadav also alleged that the BJP government signed bogus memoranda of understanding (MoUs) solely for false propaganda and optics. Addressing party workers gathered from various parts of the state at the SP headquarters, in Lucknow on Wednesday, the Kannauj MP said that the BJP is anti-democratic. "It is a party driven by a negative mindset. It misuses its power and treats the opposition as if they were enemies. The BJP government files fabricated and false cases against Samajwadi Party workers and engages in intimidation and unlawful actions," Akhilesh said. "As the 2027 Assembly elections draw closer, the BJP leadership is becoming increasingly rattled and is resorting to maligning the opposition. Artificial Intelligence (AI) should be utilised for agriculture, farming, and other constructive purposes; instead, the BJP is using it against the opposition," he added. On the issue of MoUs, Yadav said, "The BJP government signs bogus memoranda of understanding (MoUs) solely for the sake of false propaganda and optics. The majority of the MoUs signed by this government are fraudulent. For instance, an AI company was established in 2025-its website dates back to 2025-yet, in 2026, an MoU worth Rs.25,000 crore was signed with it. Its directors possess neither any professional standing nor any financial assets; one wonders how they managed to secure such a massive MoU." Yadav further stated that similar instances of fraudulent MoUs have been exposed in UP in the past, involving companies that possessed absolutely nothing yet managed to sign agreements worth thousands of crores....
