Indian Army emerges victorious at IMACC-'26
MEERUT, March 6 -- The Indian Army contingent emerged victorious at the International Military Adventure Challenge Cup (IMACC-2026) organised in eastern Himalayas, showcasing exceptional endurance, leadership and military professionalism on the international stage.
The competition organised from February 18 to 23 brought together elite military teams from across the globe and tested participants through multi-discipline endurance, adventure and tactical challenges conducted under extreme terrain and climatic conditions. The Indian Army team's success was steered by Lieutenant Colonel Sachin Singh Kuntal, captain of the Indian Army Ultramarathon and Adventure Triathlon Team, who was responsible for team selection, structured training and execution.
IMACC 2026 followed the internationally recognised Half Ironman distance of 113 kilometres, comprising 21 km of hill running across unforgiving terrain, 59.5 km of mountain bike cycling, and 32.5 km of white-water rafting.
Participating nations included Brazil, which competed alongside Indian athletes in a unique mixed Brazil-Bharat team format, as well as Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. India was represented by the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Indian Coast Guard.
