Lucknow, May 28 -- A day after a pedestrian was killed by falling construction debris in the Naubasta Kala area under Chinhat police station limits, police on Wednesday arrested a hotel owner in connection with the incident. "Police have arrested a man accused of causing the death of a pedestrian after cement debris fell from a rooftop in the Chinhat area," said SHO Chinhat Dinesh Chandra Mishra. The accused, identified as Vishal Tiwari, 35, a resident of Suryas Enclave in Naubasta Kala, was arrested within 24 hours of the incident, police said. The arrest came a day after 36-year-old Anup Kumar Singh, a service manager at a car showroom, died after a sack of construction debris allegedly fell on him from the second floor of an under-construction building in Vasundhara Vihar locality of Naubasta Kala village. According to police, Singh, originally from Deoria, was walking to work on Tuesday morning when accumulated cement debris was allegedly thrown from the rooftop without checking the road below. The sack reportedly struck him, leaving him critically injured. Locals rushed him to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors declared him dead. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim's wife, Ritu, Chinhat police registered a case under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)....
