Host of events to mark 24th AKTU convocation today
LUCKNOW, July 7 -- Many programmes, including a Maa-Beti sammelan, a felicitation ceremony for the winners of painting, story-telling and speech competitions held in village schools, performances by primary school kids and an HPV vaccination camp besides distribution of kits to five Anganwadi centres will be held at part of the 24th convocation ceremony of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) here on Tuesday.
Additionally, degrees of 62,537 students will be sent directly to their DigiLocker accounts and 84 medals will be conferred on 83 students. Among the total students, 29.45% are females, while they have bagged 63.65% of the total medals, shared Vice Chancellor Prof JP Pandey while addressing the press on Monday.
While governor Anandiben Patel, also chancellor of state universities, will grace the occasion, Arvinder Singh Sahney, chairman, Indian Oil Corporation, will be the chief guest. During the ceremony, 53 PhDs will also be awarded. The university will confer 84 medals on 83 students. The medals include 35 gold, 23 silver and 24 bronze.
The Chancellor's Medal will be awarded to Anshika Rana, a BTech computer science and engineering student of Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad. The Kamal Rani Varun Memorial Gold Medal will be awarded to Ishika, a BTech computer science and engineering with AI student at KIET Group of Institutions. Rogan art exponent Ashish Shantilal Kansara will be conferred an honorary D.Litt on the occasion, the vice chancellor said....
