AGRA, Sept. 22 -- An accused wanted in 45 cases and carrying a Rs.25,000 reward was arrested by Hathras police on Monday after evading arrest for 20 years while allegedly living in disguise as a 'sadhu' in Mathura and Vrindavan. Police traced him through surveillance, technical monitoring and the Yaksh app in Sadabad and Raya areas of Mathura. Hathras SP Chiranjeev Nath Sinha described the arrest as a major achievement for the Sadabad police. The team arrested history-sheeter Naresh alias Neerey, who was wanted under the Gangsters Act and had been evading arrest for the past 20 years. "The accused is facing 45 cases registered at various police stations in Hathras, Mathura and Aligarh districts. The Hathras police surveillance cell gathered information about him and analysed details uploaded on the Yaksh app. The analysis revealed that he had been frequently changing his location while living in disguise as a sadhu," Hathras SP said. "The accused had been absconding for the past 20 years after a court issued an arrest warrant in case No. 305 of 2006 under Sections 2/3 of the Gangsters Act at Sadabad police station in Hathras. Police had initiated proceedings to attach his property, while a reward of Rs.25,000 was announced September 18 for information leading to his arrest," Sinha said....
