High-loss feeders record decline in AT&C losses
Lucknow, Aug. 15 -- Uttar Pradesh has recorded a significant reduction in aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses in high-loss areas following a cluster-based campaign by the UP Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL), officials said.
The campaign covered 731 clusters, 1,682 feeders and 42.45 lakh consumers across the state's five distribution companies, accounting for around 11% of total electricity consumers.
A review meeting chaired by additional chief secretary (energy) and UPPCL chairman Ashish Goyel on Friday directed officials to intensify efforts in high-loss feeders and replicate the model in other areas after achieving sustained improvements.
Compared with 2024-25, AT&C losses fell by 30.06% in Kesco, 23.11% in Purvanchal, 20.94% in Madhyanchal, 9.54% in Dakshinanchal and 5.58% in Paschimanchal, said Goyel. UPPCL recovered Rs.654.31 crore and issued 88,449 new electricity connections.HTC...
