High court asks stakeholders to removepollution near Ekana stadium
LUCKNOW, May 15 -- The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court has directed all stakeholders, including the state authorities concerned, to remove pollution in and around the Ekana stadium area in the state capital.
The court also directed the respondent authorities to file their counter affidavit (reply) within four weeks on the steps taken in response to a public interest litigation petition.
A division bench of Justice Rajan Roy and Justice Manjive Shukla passed the order on May 12 on a PIL by Brij Bhushan Dubey, a social activist.
The court directed the state government, the UP Pollution Control Board chairman, the district magistrate, municipal commissioner, Lucknow, and MD, UP Jal Nigam (Urban) to submit their replies in four weeks....
