Heroin worth Rs.2.2 crore seized on Lko outskirts
LUCKNOW, July 29 -- The UP Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested two alleged drug traffickers and seized 1.065 kg of heroin worth around Rs.2.20 crore during an operation in Gosainganj area, officials said on Tuesday. "The accused, identified as Raj Pandey and Guptnath Mishra, both residents of Haidergarh in Barabanki district, were intercepted on July 27 near Purvanchal Dhaba while allegedly transporting the contraband in an SUV," read an ANTF press note.
Apart from the heroin, ANTF recovered Rs.3,270 in cash, the SUV used in the operation, an iPhone, an Android mobile phone, and other incriminating material from their possession.
The two accused told investigators that they pooled money to purchase heroin in bulk from a supplier based in Haidergarh at lower prices before selling it to customers at a premium, earning substantial profits. They were allegedly on their way to find buyers when they were intercepted. htc...
