Jhansi, March 7 -- A headmistress of a government primary school in Chitrakoot district was suspended on Friday after a video showing a student massaging her feet during school hours went viral on social media. The incident occurred at Government Primary School, Naya Bazar in Karbi, where Madhu Rai is posted as headmistress. In the 23-second video, Rai is seen lying on the classroom floor, using her mobile phone, while several Class V students sit on benches. One of the girls is seen massaging her feet. The video, reportedly filmed by someone present at the school, was uploaded on social media and triggered outrage. Basic shiksha adhikari (BSA) B.K. Sharma said an inspection team was sent to the school after the video came to his notice. However, Rai had already gone on medical leave. "Based on the inspection report, in which students alleged that she regularly asked them to massage her feet, she has been suspended," Sharma said.
