PRAYAGRAJ, June 6 -- In a bid to promote resource efficiency and reduce fuel consumption, the Allahabad high court has introduced a series of austerity measures for its principal seat at Prayagraj and the Lucknow Bench. These measures have been implemented by the chief justice of the Allahabad high court, following a directive from the chief justice of India (CJI) and an office memorandum from the government of India. The primary focus is on optimising vehicle usage and expanding digital infrastructure for both judicial and administrative functions. To ensure the optimum utilisation of fuel, registry officers have resolved to encourage carpooling. Employees across all cadres, from Class I to Class IV, have been instructed to pool vehicles.
