PRAYAGRAJ, July 14 -- The Allahabad High Court has dismissed petitions filed by Nawab Singh Yadav, former Samajwadi Party leader, and his accomplices challenging an FIR in a 2023 extortion and dacoity case registered at Kotwali police station of Kannauj.
The bench comprising Justice JJ Munir and Justice Tarun Saxena passed the order on a bunch of petitions filed by Nawab Singh Yadav, Shivam Dubey, Sachin Yadav and several others.
Allegedly on December 19, 2023, several accomplices of Yadav came to the informant's brick kiln for rangdari and forcefully took away Rs 1,50,000 from its cash chest. "Likewise, the criminal history of petitioner no. 2, in the leading petition, is a total of twenty nine cases. He, too, has been acquitted in some of the cases but the majority of these are pending. The cases include those under the Goondas Act and Section 307 IPC.", added the bench. The court while dismissing the petition said, "In the totality of circumstances, we do not find any merit in the writ petitions. In the result, all the three writ petitions are dismissed."...
