LUCKNOW, May 23 -- The fire-belching summer demon is not done yet. Harsher days of more intense heat lie ahead, with temperatures expected to climb further, if predictions made by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) are to be believed. Warnings have been issued for heat wave conditions very likely at a few places during the day over East UP and West UP. Warm night conditions are very likely at isolated places over the state, the weatherman predicted. The IMD has issued "red", "orange" and "yellow" alerts for different districts of the state spending upon the probability of heatwave. The maximum temperature is expected to remain above 45deg C in some districts on Saturday. On Friday, Banda remained hottest in Uttar Pradesh at 46.4deg C, Prayagraj was not far behind at 46.2deg C, Jhansi and Orai at 45.4deg C, Agra 45.3deg C and Hamirpur 45.2deg C. Banda, which remained the hottest city in the country for five consecutive days this month lost the tag to Brahmpuri, a district in Vidarbha where day temperature rose to 47.2deg C. The forecast for the state is weather mostly dry and strong dust-raising wind (speed 25 to 35 kmph) very likely over the state.
