Hanuman Ansh set for Telugu release; work on for other languages
India, Sept. 15 -- The unexpected sleeper hit Hanuman Ansh has collected over Rs.250 crore at the Indian box office, despite competition from films such as Mirzapur The Movie, Haiwaan and Toxic. Now, the devotional drama, inspired by the life of spiritual guru Neem Karoli Baba, is looking to expand its reach beyond its Hindi-speaking audience.
"First, we have done dubbing for Telugu and then work on the rest of the languages. We are also working on accessibility so that people of different abilities can see the film," co-producer Namrata Singh told Bollywood Hungama. The Vishal Chaturvedi directorial has been dubbed in Telugu, with filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas, known for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020), presenting the regional version. It is slated for a September 18 release.
The makers are also embracing regional-language dubbing in a bid to expand its reach and connect with a wider audience.
There was also some chatter about the film being sent as India's official submission to the Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. However, Singh has shared that the team missed the September 7 deadline.
"We got calls from a thousand people ki aap ne film submit nahin ki. But we didn't know about it. We are busy with too many things. Also, we are a really small team," Singh added.HTC...
