Guv emphasises integrating AI with languages, combating social issues
LUCKNOW, July 9 -- Governor Anandiben Patel emphasised integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Indian languages to democratise knowledge and make education more inclusive, during the convocation ceremony of Khwaja Moinnudin Chisti Language University.
She emphasised that true education must foster sensitivity, morality, innovation, and service.
"Modern convergence of technology and cultural roots is essential, for example, Central Sanskrit University's new BTech programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Integrating Indian languages with Artificial Intelligence will make education accessible and inclusive for everyone," said Patel.
"Over 30,000 international students have applied across UP state universities this year alone, with Lucknow University receiving 32,000 applications," she said, crediting this boom to improved academic quality and the positive outcomes of recent NAAC grading across 19 state universities.
Addressing social concerns, the governor called upon the graduating youth to actively fight deep-seated social evils such as the dowry system, child marriage, domestic violence, and gender discrimination.
Chief guest Sudhanshu Trivedi highlighted the significant progress witnessed in higher education in the state.
Later, in Maa-Beti sammelan, the governor directed all state universities to mandate regular health screenings for women students, install Body Mass Index (BMI) machines, and introduce structured Garbh Sanskar (prenatal education) courses.
She emphasised the urgent need to foster scientific awareness regarding menstrual health, anemia, nutrition, menopause, and maternal care to eliminate deep-rooted social taboos and gender bias....
