Lucknow, July 8 -- Governor Anandiben Patel said that India must move from being a consumer of technology to a creator of technology, with youth leading innovation in AI, science and nation-building on Tuesday. She was speaking at the AKTU convocation. "Today's India is moving ahead with confidence towards self-reliance. The coming India will be built not just by government decisions, but by the research, startups, innovation and imagination of our youth," the governor said. As many as 62,537 students received degrees through blockchain technology on DigiLocker while 55 scholars were awarded PhDs, and 84 medals conferred during the ceremony. Of the total medals, the governor conferred 35 gold medals to winners in the presence of their parents which was followed by various programmes. Earlier, teenage girls were given HPV vaccination and after the ceremony the governor participated in Maa-Beti sammelan. Chief guest Arvinder Singh Sahni, chairman, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, was felicitated for his leadership in the energy sector while Ashish Kansara, a Rogan artist was awarded with honorary D Litt degree. htc...
