Dehradun, Nov. 2 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said a road map will be created for the development of the state over the next 25 years as celebrations for the state's silver jubilee began on Saturday. Addressing a press conference at the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP's) state office on Balbir Road in Dehradun, he said that Silver Jubilee celebrations are being organised across the state to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the formation of the hill state. "Various programs will be organised across the state till November 11," he said. Dhami also paid tributes to former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said that it was during his tenure as PM that the state of Uttarakhand was formed. He said that it is a matter of pride for all of us that Uttarakhand is completing a remarkable journey of 25 years and has established new dimensions of development. The CM said that PM Narendra Modi has placed before the countrymen the resolve of a developed and self-reliant India by 2047. "The year 2050 will be the Golden Jubilee year of the formation of Uttarakhand state. The state government will move forward by creating a roadmap for the coming 25 years to build a prosperous, self-reliant, and empowered Uttarakhand," he said. Dhami said that as part of the state's silver jubilee celebrations, a special session of the state assembly is being organised in Dehradun on November 3 and 4, and President Draupadi Murmu will address the special session on November 3 "(During the special session), discussions will be held on how to take the state forward and the experiences of the past 25 years," he said. "On November 9, state foundation day, the guidance of PM Modi will be received at the main ceremony (of the silver jubilee celebrations). The focus of celebrations will be on culture, tourism, youth power, 'pravasi' Uttarakhandis, and statehood activists," he said. Dhami said this is not just a government event, but a festival of public participation. He called upon every citizen and district to participate in this celebration. The CM said that the state government has undertaken many remarkable initiatives in the past years. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country to implement a Uniform Civil Code (UCC). "...concrete steps have been taken towards good governance by implementing strict land law, anti-conversion law, anti-cheating law, and anti-riot law. Statehood activists have been given 10 per cent reservation in government jobs, and women have been given 30 per cent reservation, while 33 per cent reservation has been ensured for women in cooperative societies," he said. Dhami said that more than 26,000 youths have been provided government jobs in the last four years. "MOUs worth Rs.3.56 lakh crore were signed at the Global Investors Summit, and investments exceeding Rs.1 lakh crore have already been grounded. The state budget for the first time exceeded Rs.1 lakh crore... around 58 lakh Ayushman cards have been distributed in the state, there has been a significant reduction in the maternal mortality ratio, more than 1.65 lakh women have become self-reliant through the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, and the old-age pension has been increased to Rs.1500," he said. The CM said that the size of the state's economy has increased 26 times, and the per capita income has increased 17 times. "For the revival of religious and cultural tourism, work is underway on the Kedarnath reconstruction and the Badrinath Dham Master Plan, and the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission. Projects like the Delhi-Dehradun elevated road and the Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line will give a new direction to the state's development," he said....
