LUCKNOW, Sept. 12 -- The state government has issued strict instructions to all officers to follow courtroom protocol and prescribed dress code while appearing before courts, whether in person or virtually. Special secretary, appointment and personnel department, Vijay Kumar in a letter on Friday to all heads of state government departments, the chairperson of the Revenue Board, the agricultural production commissioner, all additional chief secretaries, principal secretaries, secretaries and special secretaries, as well as all divisional commissioners and district magistrates, directed strict adherence to these guidelines. The photograph affixed to the personal affidavit must be the latest one and in an appropriate attire. Stylish of flashy dress, open hair, and sunglasses will not be permitted during court appearance. In accordance with the law department's directives, the officer administering the affidavit, oath commissioner and notary will use only blue ink for their signatures. The seal of the oath commissioner or notary should also not be black, red, green, or any other colour. It also clarifies that adherence to the prescribed dress code is mandatory.
