LUCKNOW, July 21 -- Government hospitals across Lucknow have intensified preparations for a possible rise in dengue cases during the monsoon by reserving dedicated beds, issuing staff duty rosters and strengthening treatment facilities. Health officials said dedicated arrangements have been made at the Civil , Balrampur and the Lok Bandhu Raj Narain hospitals, while King George's Medical University and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences will manage dengue patients through medicine departments and emergency services. Civil Hospital director Dr GP Gupta said a 15-bed ground-floor ward has been earmarked for seasonal illnesses and is currently dedicated to dengue patients. Lok Bandhu Raj Narain Hospital CMS Dr PC Tiwari said the hospital has reserved a six-bed ward for dengue patients. Balrampur Hospital director Dr Ashutosh Dubey said a dedicated dengue ward has been kept ready. RMLIMS spokesperson Dr Bhuwan Chandra Tiwari said dengue patients are being treated in emergency medicine ward, with 10 beds reserved for dengue cases.
