India, Sept. 21 -- As Ganeshotsav celebrations are currently underway, actor Aamna Sharif, 44, is soaking in the festive spirit with memories of growing up in Mumbai. Known for films such as Ek Villain (2014) and TV shows including Kahiin To Hoga, she visited Lalbaugcha Raja on September 19, an experience she found deeply personal. "There was something about the faith, warmth and energy around me that left me feeling genuinely grateful and peaceful," she says. Her connection with Bappa goes back to childhood. "One of my favourite childhood memories is going with my mom and dad to Lalbaugcha Raja," she recalls. The actor adds, "I still haven't got Bappa home, but would love to someday." For now, she enjoys both the grand celebrations in the city and quieter moments with Lord Ganesha. "What I love the most is my inner connection with Bappa and my alone time with him," she shares. For Aamna, the festival is also about embracing its childlike joy. "It's still about the modaks, the way the city comes alive, the dance on the roads, and all things festive and divine about it," she says, revealing her love for malai kesar and coconut steamed modaks. Her prayers remain simple: "Always for the health, happiness and well-being of my family."
