Four kids among five killed in Muzaffarnagar house collapse
Meerut, July 21 -- Five members of a family, including four children, were killed after a mud house caved in due to heavy rain in Muzaffarnagar district on Sunday night, officials said. Two young sisters survived the tragedy and are undergoing treatment.
The incident occurred in Habibpur village. CM Yogi Adityanath expressed grief over the loss of lives and directed district officials to ensure no negligence in relief and rescue operations.
Divisional commissioner Rupesh Kumar announced that the next of kin of each deceased victim would receive Rs.5 lakh as ex gratia assistance.
SSP Sanjeev Kumar Verma said 10 members of the family lived in the house. Three of them were outside when the structure collapsed.
"All seven were taken to Budhana CHC. Five died during treatment," Verma said.
The victims were identified as Islamuddin and his kids Rukhsar, 10, Alseeba, 4, Ahad 5, and Zeeshan (1). Two daughters, Rukaiya (8) and Samaiya (7), were rescued and shifted to the district hospital. htc...
