Four held for abducting two men, forcing Rs.20K UPI transfer
LUCKNOW, July 8 -- Two 21-year-old men who were allegedly abducted and forced to transfer Rs.20,000 through UPI were rescued by Lucknow police within hours, with four accused arrested in a swift operation in the BBD police station area, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, the victims, Nirbhay Verma and his friend Abhishek Verma, were abducted on Monday by four youths, who allegedly held them captive and coerced them into transferring Rs.20,000 online before contacting their families.
"Police received information that the suspects were near Anandi Water Park. The area was cordoned off, and four youths were apprehended. Both victims were rescued," said DCP East Deeksha Sharma.
The arrested accused were identified as Abhay Chaudhary (19), a native of Basti; Navneet Tiwari alias Golu (20), from Pratapgarh; Piyush Raj (19), from Mau; and Aryan Singh (18), from Gorakhpur. htc...
