Lucknow, May 7 -- Former director general of police of UP Anand Lal Banerjee (retired) passed away at around 8:30 pm at SGPGIMS here on Wednesday. His last rites will be performed at Bhaisa Kund around 12 noon on Thursday (May 7). Banerjee was appointed DGP in 2014. Prior to that Banerjee was heading the vigilance department of the state as DG.
