Form coordination panel for works: CM
Dehradun, April 14 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday directed officials to constitute a coordination committee comprising relevant departments for the maintenance of roads constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), emphasising the need for better inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth connectivity in rural areas.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat regarding announcements made for the assembly constituencies of Didihat, Gangolihat, Kapkot and Bageshwar, the chief minister instructed officials to take prompt action on those announcements for which government orders are yet to be issued.
Dhami said that government orders related to pending announcements must be issued within a maximum of 20 days to ensure that the implementation of schemes is not delayed.
He directed officials to work in accordance with the state government's core mantra of "Simplification, Resolution, Disposal and Satisfaction", and stressed that issues related to public interest should be resolved promptly.
The chief minister also directed that problems arising during the implementation of development schemes should be addressed through coordination with the MLAs of the concerned areas so that development works continue without disruption.
During the meeting, Dhami instructed district magistrates to regularly review issues related to the transfer of forest land at the district level and remove obstacles that may hinder development works by expediting the related procedures.
He also asked the chief secretary to ensure the constitution of a coordination committee involving relevant departments to regularly monitor the maintenance of PMGSY roads.
Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, Dhami directed officials to complete all road patchwork before the onset of rains.
Emphasising the importance of sports infrastructure, the chief minister said that in places where land for sports grounds has already been identified, the required funds should be released within 15 days so that construction work can begin promptly and better facilities can be provided to youth....
