Lucknow, May 14 -- A day-long hands-on training programme on human-wildlife conflict mitigation and control was organised for frontline staff of the Awadh forest division on Wednesday. Divisional forest officer Sitanshu Pandey said the programme focused on strengthening the practical and field-level skills of forest personnel. The training included identification of wild animals, snake rescue techniques, installation and operation of camera traps, and adherence to standard operating procedure (SOP) guidelines for effective human-wildlife conflict management. Pandey said special emphasis was also placed on soft skills, public communication and crowd management during conflict situations. Officials were also trained in handling sensitive situations in the field. He said the initiative aimed to improve the preparedness, technical knowledge and confidence of frontline forest staff for better wildlife conservation and conflict mitigation.
